Re: mgf re map ?

One thing that can be guaranteed is a remap will definitely be more effective on your car than a BGT 1.8. Oddly no one seems to be able to find the OBT port on that for some reason.

Re: Sun roof in mgbgt

It depends on what sort of sunroof and what year the car was. If sunroofs were an option in your car's year of manufacture then it should be fine to fit one so long as it is the same type as the original sunroof or looks visually close to it. At the time dealers would usually be up for fitting a sun...

Re: MGB V8 front suspension

My best bet would be its because the replacement springs are the longer ones that were supplied on Rubber Bumper cars and that the springs you have taken off were the shorter ones that were standard on Chrome Bumper cars. I changed my BGT over to chrome bumper springs a while ago and was surprised h...

Re: Value

Can you provide some m,ore information about the car,. Oddly enough most enthusiasts haven't subscribed to the motor manufacturers database so are unable to find all the details of your car from the VIN. It also doesnt help with assessing condition etc. A description and some pictures would be good .

Re: New Member 1970 BGT

You have a great looking BGT there. It is a very sensible choice after owning a landrover for several years. The MG is a simple car that is a delight to work on and greatly benefits from a good source of new and second hand spares. Seeing a nicely sorted BGT does make me want to get back onto workin...

Re: ..... ive dropped a bolt into clutch bell housing ..help pls!

Undo the engine to bellousing bolts, loosen the engine and gearbox mounts and gently prise a gap between the engine and gearbox. Make the gap wider at the bottom and put a couple of wedges (e.g handle of a screwriver, half inch thick bit of wood etc) to space the bellousing away from the back of the...

Re: A series with type 9 gearbox

Not sure about Midget owners but the type 9 conversion is still popular with Morris Minor owners, Some classic Ford owners have gone onto using Mazda RX8 5 and 6 speed gearboxes was they are still plentiful and relatively cheap.

It would be interesting to know what the parts cost on their own and how much of a job it would be.

Re: wire wheels

You would need to work out the offset of the wheel. The 15/185 tyres should fit under the arches ok but it all depends on the wheel offset.
