Steve, the American MG guru, John Twist, recommends 30degree advance at 3000 rpm. After a lot of problems, particularly with starting the car, I tried this and it works wonders. The 30 degree would be for a standard engine of course.
The MG Car Forum website was created by MG owners for MG owners. The idea is to form a UK-based online meeting place for MG enthusiasts allowing users to help each other or share experiences of driving and maintaining MG saloon and sports cars. We also have forum boards for MG super cars, pre-war and others! If you'd like a new MG forum for a model or topic we don't currently have then please let us know and we'll set it up.
We welcome you to this forum and hope you enjoy participating in the various MG discussions taking place here. Best of all, the website is mobile responsive so is compatible with smart phones and tablets - making chatting on the move (or in your MG!) easier then ever. Just bookmark the homepage or add a shortcut to us on your home screen on mobile devices for quick access. Please follow our social network links to stay informed with any MG Car Forum developments. :)
