According to "britishmotormuseum", this car is a completely standard 1975 roadster, manufactured February 1975, retailed August 1975 from a dealer in Mansfield Notts. However, that does not explain that whilst having raised suspension, bracketry for rubber bumpers and some first generation emission specification, the car was doubtless built with crinkle finish metal dashboard, previous generation interior trim, full size Smiths Industries instruments, switchgear etc harks back to the previous chrome bumper spec. At a rough count I have owned, repaired and maintained more than twenty cars of this period and I am convinced that nobody in their right mind could have afforded or had the time to retro fit a Leylandesque finish to a previous generation car. At worst I own a raided parts bin car which allowed the factory to release a hybrid between the two generations. Anyone else experienced something similar, would be interested to hear. Thank you.
