I was wondering if anyone knew where or how to convert a manual gearbox of an MGB GT to an automatic one? Or how much this would cost?

Converting a manual box to work like an automatic can be done but needs an ecu and a complex array of solenoids. It has been used on a number of cars including by Ford and Vauxhall. It could be possible to modify this setup for an MGB but it would require quite a bit of time and skill.
It might just be easier to get an auto box. If you cant find an MGB one I would suggest an automatic box from a 1.8 Morris Marina would be a straight fit given this had the same B series engine. You may need to make some minor changes to the top of the transmission tunnel for the selector & check in case you may need to swap or modify the propshaft, not sure if the lengths are the same..
