Almost power steering feel

Post by Wistow » Mon Mar 11, 2019 1:24 am

I have been thinking about fitting electric power steering about £500 in the UK, my wife finds the MGB too heavy at slow speeds, however I came across this and wondered if it really makes the difference claimed.

"Replaces bronze thrust washer in the top trunnion. Complete car set MG MGB (1962-80) • MGC (1967-69)
This amazing little invention replaces the bronze thrust washers in the top trunnions to reduce friction and give an almost power steering feel to your car without any major alterations to your vehicle. Makes the heavy manoeuvring of your classic a thing of the past."

Has anyone fitted these or something similar?

I was thinking the same and asked on the MGOC and MG EXP forums with some positive reviews. I have ordered a kit from here at ... SwmrlUzO9U
A lot cheaper.

Have you fitted one of these kits now? If so, is it making a worthwhile difference?
