After doing some research, I've determined that while both the Turbo and the Turbo S share the same engine and turbo, the "S" model differs with a bigger intercooler and updated ECU software. Does anyone know of a way to convert the "S" code for an engine that doesn't use the "S" extension?

Could you please tell me where the intercooler differs?

Unfortunately, I don't remember where I read it; it was probably on the internet, but I can't remember if it was this forum or another. Several posts now suggest that it might be connected to the increase in towing capacity from 3.5K to 5K in relation to the air/water intercooler.

The internet was incorrect, in my opinion. A search for "inter-cooler" on the Mazda parts site yields a single heat exchanger part number for the CX-90, and it seems to be indifferent to the difference between the Turbo and Turbo S models.

It would appear that there is no mechanical equipment limitation limiting the higher output tune, so the question is whether anyone has ported the 340HP "S" capability to the non-"S" version.
