Compared to the Prince engines, it's not terrible. I do own a couple of things. Because of its plastic construction, the oil filter housing is susceptible to cracking and the subsequent leakage of both oil and coolant. Keep in mind that the timing chain is the engine's gearbox, and that when the oil control solenoids, which contain gauze, break, it can cause the vanos hubs to break as well. The timing chain kit costs around £1200 from BMW, and the last chain set I replaced was on a 140,000-mile engine that was worn, had a faulty solenoid, and a vanos sprocket. The parts for that engine aren't as affordable as prince engines. With the same engine as the BMW 1 Series M135i, which has been expertly remapped, the INA over-the-counter mpd cost £700. From now on, I intend to change the oil and filter eight thousand times every twelve months
