Greetings everyone.
I possess a UK-registered XC60 that has acquired a bothersome tendency over the past year. The dealership I have consistently utilised has verified that the issue did not manifest while in their workshop. All software and firmware are current.
When the phone is connected via cable for Apple Pay, the primary display screen turns blank for approximately 10-15 seconds; concurrently, alterations occur in the driver's display—usually, the central navigation section vanishes and the rev counter/speedometer returns to a default setting (I typically utilise the "eco" mode).
After approximately 15-20 seconds, the screen resets (along with the driver's display center navigation section) - however, on the primary screen, it is essential to re-select any navigation mode being utilised on Apple AirPlay (I predominantly use Waze). Following an additional 15 to 20 seconds, the primary display will once more become unlit.
Upon returning to normal after approximately 15-20 seconds, the driver's display initially presents the rev counter and speedometer in an enlarged format before transitioning to the standard mode after a few seconds, while the navigation mode reappears in the central section of the driver's display. Furthermore, when my phone is connected via cable (which is typically the case), I can perceive the "on charge" tone as the primary screen returns. The radio tuning through the primary display (I generally utilise DAB) frequently defaults to FM.
This occurrence is not universal across all journeys, yet occasionally manifests as 4 to 5 cycles during a brief excursion. Unable to identify any shared connection regarding its potential timing.
A soft reset is documented:
Gentle Rebooting
Identify the Home button: Locate the physical button or the diminutive white line/icon situated directly beneath the central display screen.
Depress and maintain: Sustain pressure on the button with your finger. The display will initially activate a provisional screen cleaning mode.
Maintain your grip: Refrain from releasing when the cleaning mode is activated. Maintain pressure until the entire screen turns entirely black.
Logo unveiling: Hold until the Volvo emblem or inscription reemerges on the display, then release. The system will complete its booting process in one to two minutes.
Nevertheless, I appear to lack a "cleaning" mode - it merely shuts off the display!
Has anyone else experienced comparable symptoms and found a corresponding solution?

Have they revised the software? Our 2023 exhibits comparable behaviour and may even completely cease operation. Pressing and holding the home button for 10 seconds initiates a reboot. A nuisance, yet the dealer has already upgraded the software on ours, making it the sole alternative.

Thank you - indeed, the software is completely current - that was the initial verification.
I have not encountered this problem since my post - perhaps the vehicle monitors this forum! I will attempt the home button should the problem reoccur.

A few days prior, during an extended journey, the display malfunctioned once more. Attempted a soft reset utilising the home button on the screen - no alteration in the symptoms.
Censored twice, then returned to "normal.

I encountered a comparable experience. The Volvo dealership substituted a fuse, and the issue was resolved.
