The rear brake light bulb of the 2023 Elantra is stuck

My son recently acquired a 2023 Elantra SE with 18,000 miles approximately 45 days prior. It is officially certified as pre-owned. The brake light on the rear right side has ceased functioning today. We proceeded to exchange it. Removing the tail light housing was straightforward; however, extracting the bulb proves to be impossible. The aperture appears to be narrower than the bulb. We can rotate the harness to detach it from the casing, after which you "ought" to simply extract it along with the bulb. However, negative. The bulb dangles from the fixture as though it is oversized. I attempted to manoeuvre it from every angle and cannot extract it. I have included an image. The housing encasing the bulb appears to be deformed. Does anyone possess suggestions for removing the bulb or has anyone encountered this problem previously?

It appears that the bulb may have experienced overheating, resulting in swelling or adhesion to the socket. Quite exasperating for a vehicle with merely 18,000 miles.

Indeed, I believe it might be inflamed. I believe it is not attached to the socket opening, as I have not reached that stage yet. I must remove it from the casing before I can extract the bulb. It appears that an internal component has overheated and become deformed, obstructing the bulb's removal from the housing.

I observe a slight indicative wrinkle of excessive heat.
I believe you must confront the situation and shatter the bulb.
Subsequently, trim a small amount of material from the housing aperture using a knife.
Substitute with a 1157 bulb that operates at a lower temperature than the 2357.

I have observed numerous individuals' heads expand when exposed to heat for different reasons, yet not glass bulbs.

It appears that there is a dark cover atop the housing that may be unscrewed to provide access to the bulb from above. It likely necessitates dexterous fingers. 🤣

I do not observe any components experiencing overheating.

can provide guidance in this matter. I recall him previously posting regarding the extended warranty for tail lamps because of their tendency to overheat or melt. It appears that this may be the situation that has transpired here.

The tail light assembly of my 2012 Sonata melted around the bulb socket, necessitating the breaking of the bulb to extract the socket. I utilised a file to enlarge the aperture sufficiently to substitute the bulb. The tail lights were covered by an extended warranty, and Hyundai replaced both tail light assemblies and the wiring harness at no cost.
