I am acquiring a 2018 Sportage. What should I purchase to prevent it from being stolen? I am uncertain whether individuals commonly steal older Kias, but if it is prevalent, I would prefer to evade such a situation.

If you are contemplating a steering wheel lock, there are essentially only two options to consider: the Stoplock or the Milenco. Both can be procured from vendors like Halfords or through online platforms such as Amazon.
The Milenco is somewhat pricier than the Stoplock; however, based on my experience with both, I find the Stoplock to be slightly more cumbersome than the Milenco.
You cannot make a poor choice with either option, as both are exceptionally crafted and will dissuade all but the most determined car thieves who typically transport the vehicle on a trailer. I have utilised both options, and I favour the Milenco; however, consider visiting a store like Halfords to see if they permit you to try both.

I appreciate your response. Is a steering wheel lock the most effective solution? Is an older loa, such as from 2018, unnecessary? It is a button for initiating and halting operations.

The decision is solely yours, and all necessary information is found in posts #2 and #4. I fully concur with the selections outlined in post #2.
As a precaution, I recommend avoiding the less expensive options found online, as their low cost is indicative of underlying issues. Professional car thieves can dismantle most inexpensive steering wheel locks within a minute or two due to their expertise in circumventing such devices. It is their enterprise, and they excel in it.

Criminals will pilfer any vehicle that piques their interest; evidently, luxury, contemporary automobiles are the primary focus, yet vintage cars may also be sought after. Opportunistic criminals are indifferent to the age of your vehicle. That said, the decision to consider additional security is largely a matter of personal preference.

Milenco receives my endorsement; its user-friendly design encouraged increased usage on my part.
