Would someone happen to have the instructions for removing the C207 coupe's stainless window trim? The trim along the roof line is fastened with torx screws, as I can see when I remove the channel seal along the roof above the door glass. The issue here is that the trim goes all the way over the back fixed quarter glass. It seems likely that the torx screws go through this section as well. Assuming this to be true, taking out the rear quarter glass would necessitate taking out the interior side trim as well. Help! I need to know how to remove the inner panel and stainless trim, and someone can tell me if I'm doing it right. The process of removing the stainless trim that runs along the bottom of the rear window is also beyond my comprehension. I have attempted to pry it upwards, as appears to be effective for many other Mercedes models, but it appears to have no effect on this particular vehicle. I would greatly appreciate any guidance or assistance. Please do not mask off the area at the trim; I would like to have a repaired rear quarter guard spray painted.

I figured out how to take the trim pieces off, so I figured I'd share my findings in case anyone else has to do the same. Without removing anything else, carefully pry up and away from the outside metal trim piece that runs under the back window, beginning at the end nearest the door. All the way along the length of the roof rail is screwed the outer metal trim that runs over the door and rear window. In their infinite wisdom, Mercedes neglected to install clips in the region above the fixed quarter glass at the back. In order to remove the screws that secure the trim, it is necessary to remove the quarter glass. It is necessary to remove the interior trim in order to reach the lower bolt that secures the quarter glass. The quarter glass is fastened with a single screw located at the top. If you want to get to this screw, you have to pull the window seal in the top right corner, where it meets the quarter glass. When you remove the quarter glass, you'll also be removing the lower inner seal and the top channel seal. I hope this information is useful to someone.

Good, straightforward directions. I am grateful.

Please, if it is okay with you, transfer the subject to windscreen.

I need to get a new screen for my 207 because mine just cracked. Since this is something I've never dealt with before, I was hoping you could tell me what to look out for based on your experience with Mercedes screens. I am grateful.

Impressive work for stepping up and solving the problem on your own, and then for sharing what you found with the group.

You have my admiration for trying something that I would never attempt. I was simply curious if you documented the process with photos. I would think that these would be useful to back up your instructions, but that's just my opinion. 🤔

Oh no, I completely forgot to bring my camera. There was a repair to the back quarter of my car before I even noticed the masking off at the trim. I was hoping to do a slightly better job. I probably wouldn't have attempted it if I'd known how challenging it would be. I only did it because I thought other models' trim would clip in over the quarter glass. I had to remove the trim to straighten it and paint it because I slightly bent it when I attempted to pop it out.

So far, I haven't needed to change a windscreen. Thanks to all the extra electronics on today's windscreens, I can tell you that it's a lot more work than it used to be. Only a trained expert whose work is fully guarantyd should apply for this position.

I thought that was the whole point of having insurance.
