Gearbox oil (for Laycock O/D 'box)

I see the spec for the 'box is the same as the engine - namely 20W/50.

Has anyone used the Millers Classic MINI oil - which claims to be designed for engine applications which share oil with the 'box and therefore appears a better choice for the MGB O/D gearbox?

Hi I can't say I've used the Mini one - but it should be fine.

Any classic style 20w50 will be good in all sorts of places round the MGB, I stock up on the stuff whenever I see it cheap.

Wilkinsons of all places believe it or not sell a nice tin of 20w50 Classic Car motor oil and it's cheaper than the Halfords one too. Both are very good quality and a nice green rich looking oil, not like the cheap lawnmower stuff!
